About the Service
This service allows obtaining an import permit for pesticides registered under the importer’s name at the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE). The consignment is examined upon arrival at the port of entry to ensure it fully complies with all import requirements before release.
Service Process
- For import Permit:
- Log in using UAE PASS to start the service.
- Pay the fees.
- Submit the application.
- Issuing the import permit.
- For release Permit:
- Log in using UAE PASS to start the service.
- Fill out the application form.
- Attach the required documents.
- Pay the fees.
- Submit the application.
- Inspect the consignment and conduct a laboratory analysis of the consignment.
- Issuing release permit.
Conditions & Requirements
- The establishment must hold a valid license for production and trade of agricultural inputs, including pesticide trading activities.
- The pesticide to be imported must be registered with the EDE under the importer’s name.
- Non-compliance with the requirements will result in the consignment being rejected according to legislation.
- The import permit may not be transferred or assigned to third parties.
- Pesticides may only be imported from the producing company or its original branches according to the registration certificate.
- A prior import permit must be obtained before the consignment arrives.
- The consignment will be released only after matching chemical specifications and the approved label.
- The period between production and arrival at the port must not exceed 180 days.
- The establishment may have its import permit canceled if the pesticide registration is suspended.
- Samples from each batch will be analyzed in the laboratory to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
- Both the establishment’s license and the pesticide registration certificate must be valid for consignment release.
