About the Service

This service allows obtaining a license for the activities of trading and manufacturing nutritional supplements.

Service Process

When applying through the website:

• In case of a request to issue a license / add another activity:
• Log in using UAE PASS to start the service.
• Fill out the application form.
• Attach the required documents.
• Pay the fees.
• Submit the application.
• Inspection of all establishments, except for facilities specialized in import and export.
• Issuing a license for the manufacturing and trading of nutritional supplements.

Conditions & Requirements

• The license is valid for one year from the date of issuance for the following activities: nutritional supplements factory, import and export of nutritional supplements.

Required Documents

• For all establishments the following documents are required:
• Copy of valid trade or industrial license.
• Approval of the competent authority for the establishment of the facility (establishment) except those specialized in trade activities, the following additional documents are required
• Veterinary supervision through one of the following options:
• Presence of a licensed veterinarian from the ministry, or It is permissible for an agricultural engineer to be licensed by the Ministry as a substitute for a veterinarian in the case of nutritional supplements feed factories only
• An environmental permit, issued by the competent authority in accordance with Federal Law No. (24) of 1999 on the Protection and Development of the Environment, shall be required in the case of manufacturing facilities (factories).

FAQ’s

• Is it permitted to license animal-related activities under the retail system? Animal-related activities under the retail system are licensed by the relevant local authorities, As for establishments involved in the distribution and manufacturing of dietary supplements, whether retail or wholesale, they are required to obtain a license from the Emirates Drug Establishment.
• Is it possible to add a new activity to an active animal activity license? Yes, a new activity can be added to the animal activity license, provided that a permit is obtained from the relevant local authority for the new activity. Additionally, the animal activity license issued by the ministry must be valid. Please note that the license expiration date will not change upon adding the new activity.
• What activities are suitable for a general trade activity within the establishment? The activities must be specified in accordance with the required license type.
