Import Authorization Permit for Narcotic Drugs / Psychotropic Substances

Service Description

This service allows customers to apply for authorization permission to import Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances from outside the UAE for the purpose of selling or using them under the applicable laws in the UAE.

Service Process

• Log in using UAE PASS to start the service.
• Fill out the application form.
• Attach the required documents.
• Submit the application for the initial approval of the import permit for medical materials and products
• Issue the initial approval for the import permit of medical materials and products. Submit the request to obtain the final approval
• Submit the request to obtain the final approval
• Issue the import authorization permit for narcotic drugs / controlled substances

Conditions & Requirements

• The facility must be licensed by the Emirates Drug Establishment, and the license must be valid. The pharmacist's license must be valid

Required Documents

• A copy of invoice from the country of origin
• Product analysis certificate
• Product registration certificate
• License issued by EDE
• Trade License
• Application form for importing controlled medicines
• Standard stock of medicines approved by EDE
• Letter of commitment from the requesting hospital
• License of the pharmacist in charge
• Local purchase request from the requesting hospital
• Application form for narcotic and psychotropic drugs
• Technical report from the hospital performing operations
• Medicine clearance report from the customs authority and approved by inspectors
