Permit to export/re-export Medical items and products

About the Service

This service allows local factories and authorized distributors who have a valid license issued by the Emirates Drug Establishment to submit an application for a permit to export medical products.

Service Process

• Log in using UAE PASS to start the service.
• Fill out the application form.
• Attach the required documents.
• Pay the fees.
• Submit the application.
• Upon approval, pay the fees for the Permit to export/re-export Medical items and products.
• Issue the Permit to export/re-export Medical items and products.

Conditions & Requirements

• It is required to comply with Ministerial Resolution No. (227) of 2023 concerning the regulation of transportation, storage, and distribution of medical products or raw materials used in their manufacture.
• It is required that the institution’s inspectors verify the documents against the shipment before approving its customs clearance.

Required Documents

• CPP certificate issued from EDE for local manufactured products for export purposes
• Export permit from the section of Narcotics, Controlled and Semi-Controlled Products Regulation - for narcotic, controlled or semi-controlled substances
• Batch release certificate issued by the Emirates Drug Establishment for each batch - if the product is derived from biological materials or contains blood, plasma or human tissue.
• Export permit from the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation - for radioactive materials
• Approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - upon request-
• Commercial invoice including country of origin, batch number, production and expiry dates
• Approval from the competent health authority in the importing country
• Documents proving the official import of the products
• Disclosure of the availability of the country's stock of the products to be exported
