Service Description

This service allows the registration of fertilizers and agricultural soil conditioners with the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE)و whether imported from outside the UAE or locally manufacturedو for the purpose of obtaining permission to trade them in the markets.


Service Process

  • 1. Log in using UAE PASS to start the service
  • 2. Fill out the application form
  • 3. Attach the required documents
  • 4. Pay the fees
  • 5. Submit the application
  • 6. Application is reviewed
  • 7. Issue a Fertilizer and Agricultural Soil Conditioner Registration Certificate

Conditions & Requirements

  • • The entity must hold a valid License for the Production and Trade of Agricultural Inputs issued by EDE
  • • If any of the required documents are not provided, the application will be rejected
  • • Upon approval, the entity will be granted a registration certificate for the fertilizer or agricultural soil conditioner in accordance with the analysis certificate attached with the registration application. The registration period is five years

Required Documents

  • Section 1: Imported Fertilizers
  • 1. Registration certificate for fertilizers and agricultural soil conditioners issued by the competent authority in the country of origin
  • 2. If the fertilizer or agricultural soil conditioner is not registered in the country of origin: a certificate from the competent authority in an OECD member country confirming permission to trade it
  • 3. Fertilizer and agricultural soil conditioner analysis certificate from a government laboratory, a laboratory accredited by the competent authority, or a laboratory holding ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation in the country of origin.
  • 4. Certificate from the manufacturing or exporting company confirming the product is safe for humans, animals, plants, the environment, and soil
  • 5. Copy of the fertilizer packaging label from the country of origin in English, with a legally translated Arabic copy
  • 6. Technical Data Sheet (TDS) for fertilizers and agricultural soil conditioners
  • 7. Copy of the proposed local fertilizer and agricultural soil conditioners packaging label containing the required data in both Arabic and English, in accordance with the requirements set out in Annex (3)
  • 8. Authorisation letter (No-Objection) from the manufacturing or exporting company to the entity, confirming no objection to the registration and trading of the fertilizer and agricultural soil conditioner within the UAE
  • Registration of Imported Fertilizers as Organic Agricultural Production Inputs
  • If the entity wishes to register imported fertilizers and agricultural soil conditioners as organic agricultural production inputs, the following documents must be attached in addition to the documents listed above:
  • 1. Valid certificate issued by a certification body applying European, American, or Japanese organic production standards, confirming the product is authorised for use in organic production
  • 2. Certificate or declaration from the exporting or manufacturing company confirming the product does not contain any genetically modified materials and that no materials derived from genetically modified organisms were used during its production process
  • 3. Commitment to displaying the UAE Organic mark (عضوي — Organic) on the registered fertilizer's packaging in accordance with the conditions for using the organic logo


  • Section 2: Locally Manufactured Fertilizers
  • 1. Analysis certificate from an EDE laboratory or a laboratory accredited by EDE
  • 2. Certificate from the manufacturing company confirming the product is safe for humans, animals, plants, the environment, and soil
  • 3. Technical Data Sheet (TDS) for fertilizers and agricultural soil conditioners
  • 4. Copy of the proposed local fertilizer packaging label in Arabic, translated into English
  • Registration of Locally Manufactured Fertilizers as Organic Agricultural Production Inputs
  • If the entity wishes to register locally manufactured fertilizers and agricultural soil conditioners as organic agricultural production inputs, the following documents must be attached in addition to the documents listed above:
  • 1. Valid certificate issued by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (formerly the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology) or a certification body applying European, American, or Japanese organic production standards, confirming the product is authorised for use in organic production
  • 2. Certificate or declaration from the manufacturing company confirming the product does not contain any genetically modified materials and that no materials derived from genetically modified organisms were used during its production process
  • 3. Commitment to displaying the UAE Organic mark (عضوي — Organic) on the registered fertilizer's packaging in accordance with the conditions for using the organic logo
