• First: General Requirements for Veterinary Warehouses.
• The facility must display a sign on the front façade indicating the name and type of activity.
• The location must be suitable in accordance with the planning and procedures of the local authority and must be easily accessible.
• The veterinary facility must not be connected to or open onto any other establishment, residence, or property.
• A water supply and sanitary drainage must be provided in accordance with the rules set by the competent local authorities.
• Fire-fighting means must be provided.
• A suitable, tightly sealed container for waste must be provided.
• Second: Specific Requirements for Veterinary Drug Warehouses:
• Floors and walls must be made of a material that is easy to clean and disinfect.
• The facility must have good lighting and ventilation, with air-conditioning units, exhaust fans, and devices for measuring temperature.
• An incinerator meeting health and environmental requirements must be provided for the disposal of waste and sample residues, or a contract must be made with a specialized entity/company in this field.
• A suitable refrigerator must be provided for storing medicines, vaccines, and reagents.
• Third: Technical Requirements for Veterinary Warehouses:
• Shelves or cabinets must be provided for storing medicines, at a height of 20 cm above the floor, and not exposed to sunlight. It is prohibited to place medicine cartons directly on the floor.
• A cabinet must be provided for storing pesticides and poisons, completely separated from the other medicine cabinets.
• A cabinet must be provided for storing narcotic and controlled substances, completely separated from the other medicine cabinets.
• At least one (1) veterinary doctor must be available.

• For the issuance of the initial approval:
• Approval of a trade name from the competent local authority.
• Copy of the lease contract or ownership document of the veterinary establishment.
• For the issuance of the license:
• Copy of a valid commercial license.
• Secondly – Veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturing plants.
• In case of applying for a license / adding a new activity:
• Copy of a valid commercial or industrial license.
• Approval from the competent authority to establish the facility.
• Veterinary supervision through one of the following options:
• The presence of a veterinarian licensed by the Ministry. A licensed pharmacist from the Emirates Medicines Authority may be accepted as an alternative to a veterinarian in the case of veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturing plants only.
• Environmental permit issued by the competent authority in accordance with the provisions of Federal Law No. (24) of 1999 concerning the Protection and Development of the Environment.

• Is online trading of medicines and feed allowed? Online trading of medicines and feed is not allowed unless a license is obtained from a warehouse authorized by the EDE, and the medicines must be registered and approved by the EDE. Additionally, the licensed warehouse is permitted to advertise registered veterinary products online after obtaining approval from the EDE.
• What are the requirements and procedures for transferring a veterinary agency from a local agent to another within the country, and what are the fees for this service? The application must be submitted by the applicant (the new agent in the country) along with the following documents: 1. A letter from the new agent addressed to the ministry requesting approval as the local agent for the manufacturer. 2. An agency cancellation letter from the previous agent, issued by the manufacturer and duly authenticated. 3. An appointment letter for the new agent, issued by the manufacturer and duly authenticated. 4. A no-objection letter from the UAE Ministry of Economy and Trade confirming that the previous agent in the UAE is not registered for the manufacturer. 5. A list of veterinary products to be transferred. Once all requirements are met, the application will be reviewed, and approvals will be granted for requests that meet the conditions. Please note that this service is currently free of charge.
• Do the same licensing requirements applicable within the country apply to companies operating in free zones, especially regarding veterinary facilities? Yes, the licensing procedures implemented by the EDE apply when conducting any veterinary activities within the country, regardless of the company's location, whether in free zones or within the country.
